The Artist
For me, photography is the celebration of life, self expression, and personal experiences that shapes how we view the world through our own personal lens.
Within each series my work is created to express a personal story of my experiences as a woman.
Sometimes my photos are highly curated in a controlled environment in my studio, while other times I travel and take street photography, capturing moments in real time. I very much enjoy the spectrum of extremes between uncontrolled and controlled conditions, as this reflects the drama of life. Sometimes it’s planned, sometimes it’s not.
While working in my studio I often use feminine elements in a relatable and humanistic way. This is deeply important to me and in my work to share my story.
I am heavily inspired by working with and arranging florals in this way bringing them into the human experience. The connection is the resilience we have as individuals and how we are able to bloom out of darkness, becoming uniquely beautiful.
Though I am sharing my personal experiences through curated and sporadic coordinations, the point of my work is not necessarily what I intend it to be, but rather the narrative the viewer forms and what personal connections are felt through the experience.
That to me is the beauty of art in and of itself, we can all view the same work and connect to it in different ways, that’s the point.
I want my audience to feel deeply connected to my work.
it is much less about my intention and much more about the experience of what is felt to Each Viewer.
